The centrepiece of Great Zimbabwe is the Great Enclosure, a massive stone structure built without mortar and consisting of towering granite walls enclosing an area of approximately 18,000 square meters. Within the Great Enclosure are several smaller structures, including the Conical Tower, which is believed to have served as a royal residence or ceremonial site.
