From the cruise you will have a snack lunch and transfer to the airstrip for your real safari experience staying the first 2 nights at Elephant Camp in Savuti followed by 2             further nights at Xakanaxa (pronounced Kakanaka) in the Okavango Delta

You will be met and welcomed, shown to your accommodation and possible activities during your stay will be discussed.

This should leave a convenient break for you to settle in and have a freshen-up prior to afternoon tea at 16.00 hrs.  At 16.30 the afternoon game drive.  Drinks half way through and back to camp in time for dinner at 20.00 hrs.  After dinner, sit round the fire if you wish, for coffee, drinks and liquors

06.00  Wake up call

Tea/coffee with light breakfast.

(Approximate depending upon the season) early morning game drive. Cool drinks, tea and coffee served about half way through the drive.

Return to camp to freshen-up, visit the Curio shop, etc. or just relax.

11.00  Buffet brunch.

After brunch until 15.30 is free time to relax by the pool or just enjoy watching game from within the confines of the camp.

Afternoon tea, savoury snacks, cakes, etc.

16.00  Afternoon game drive.  During the drive there will be a stop in a scenic ………………location for sundowner drinks.

19.00 Return to camp.

20.00  Pre-dinner drinks followed by dinner.

21.00 Drinks/coffee/liqueurs around the camp fire.

The morning up to and including brunch should be pretty much the same as your previous day starting at 06.00 up to and including brunch (but please see comment at the end of this Itinerary).

You will then be escorted to the plane for the relatively short hop to Xakanaxa landing strip and then to the camp site.  The rest of the day – afternoon tea, game drive (time permitting), pre-dinner drinks, etc. is as on the day you arrived at Savuti Fly

This will be as day 5 but enjoying the totally different environment and vegetation of Okavango as apposed to Savuti.  But hopefully lots of exciting game, excellent food and great relaxation.

The usual early wake-up call, like breakfast and (time permitting) early morning game drive followed by food.  Relax until your transfer flight back to Kasane.

Comment: Because the charter flight company gives only 24 hours notice as to the times of the shared flights, it is not possible to be precise as to times of arrival and departure from the 2 camps and therefore activities and meals may not be as normal on these days

After your morning activities (maybe limited) in Xakanaxa you will return to the airstrip for your trip back to the airstrip at Kasane.   From there you will be transferred back to Victoria Falls for your last 2 nights at the one and only STANLEY & LIVINGSTON HOTEL with dinner in the hotel.

A day of pure relaxation to get over the activities of the previous 6 days.

We truly believe you will not be disappointed with this magnificent hostelry.

Nonetheless, if you need to pop back into town for some last minute shopping or one                           further activity, you have a hotel complimentary transfer to and from Victoria Falls                 town.

Lunch: Optional depending upon your movements (if any – lazing by the pool…?!)

Dinner: In the hotel.

DAY 10

We collect and transfer you on the last relatively short hop to the airport for your return flight.

COST : MIN :US4640     MAX:US6500

These four days (or less) should really not be missed if you can afford the time (and the money…!).Apologies for repeating the word ‘memorable’ but in the words of our dictionary, “deserving to be remembered; remarkable” fits the bill perfectly.

2 Nights Savuti Fly Camp followed by 2 Nights
in the Okavango at Xakanaxa Fly Camp

By staying initially at Savuti Fly Camp you are starting your safari in the heart of the Chobe National Park.  An area sometimes referred to as the elephant capital of the world.  So enjoy!

This Savuti area is the epitome of aridity.  To say that rain is rare is an understatement and as you relax you begin to understand that precious little has changed on these dry plains since time began.  Yet, amazingly, the camp is also on the edge of the marsh.

The camp offers a spectacular bird’s eye view of elephant in their natural habitat, with an adjacent waterhole just yards away from the camp itself.  Both elephant and lion in prides of up to 40 are not uncommon.  But you should also see leopard, cheetah, buffalo, hyena and wild dog.

And if you prefer to watch the wildlife from the water instead of terra firma, you can do so from a mokoro or a motorised boat.

Bird watching at this camp – especially between December and March – is breathtaking being on the edge of the Savuti Marsh.

If you are lucky you will see the larger flying birds in great numbers such as, Kovi Bustard, Ground Hornbills, Ostrich and Northern Black Orhaan.  And that is just for starters, what about the rest of the 250 species, most of them endemic to the area?!

And never forget the Curio shop, the private viewing deck, the comfortable outdoor lounges and last but not least, the heated swimming pool.

You will be sorry to leave – except for the fact that when you do, you will be heading for the equally enjoyable Xakanaxa Fly Camp.

The Xakanaxa Fly Camp nestles in the shade of some huge Kigelia (known as sausage) trees and Mopane trees. And it is just a stone throw from the edge of the Xakanaxa lagoon.  The camp is set in the heart of the Moremi Wildlife Reserve and is rated as being one of the finest game-viewing areas in Africa incorporating, as it does, most of the Delta water with a vast selection of exotic wildlife.

Your game drive will take you through a large variety of different vegetation down winding tracks, through Mopane forests and across lush grasslands.

Game to be seen should include elephant, buffalo, wildebeest, waterbuck, giraffe and tsessebe.  As for the predators you will be unlucky not to see lion (often heard calling in the early morning), leopard, hyena and wild dog, and – especially important for Afro Honeyguide clients – you have a chance of seeing an actual honey badger!

At both camps your accommodation will be in a twin room with private basic en suite facilities.  Basic indicates long drop toilets and bucket showers.
